Pollinator Sites Off to a Good Start

Grey Wooded Forage Association manager (GWFA), Ginette Boucher, reports: “Kim Nielsen seeded his site on June 19, 2017 with the County's plot seeder and John Deere 9350 hoe drill with direct seed openers. The plot size is 1.5 acres and the supplied seed went on extremely well. Ahead of seeding the plot area was mowed to remove competition and allow the seed openers to slice the sod and make adequate soil contact. As of today June 29, seed germination is evident.” For more information on Operation Pollinator please visit the Soil Conservation Council of Canada website, or visit our projects page to become directly involved.
